Corporate Services

WME is one of 10 regional employer organisations (REO) across the country and we provide services to subscribing councils in the West Midlands Region (currently 33 of them). We represent them on the National Association of Regional Employers (NARE) and act as their collective voice in responding to national consultations.

Subscribing councils collectively own WME and their membership gives them access to 28 membership benefits which are fully explained in our Shareholder Membership Handbook. This handbook is accessed via the Member Only section of our website.

Our role as their REO enables us to also develop and deliver a wide range of other support services that our councils want and need to support their workforce and organisational development.

Our services are of interest and accessible to other public sector organisations in our region through a Corporate Membership subscription service. We offer 3 membership options; Gold, Silver and Bronze and each has its own set of service benefits including discounted fees across many of our products and services.

Get Involved

WME hosts a variety of events throughout the year both virtual and in person at our offices (JQ Modern, 120 Vyse Street, Birmingham, B18 6NF). Virtual delivery has enabled us to secure a wider range of involvement and to open up access to participants from beyond our region.

Whilst our member organisations get priority access, free places or best value prices, we welcome participation from the wider public sector community.

Employment Law

The Annual Update – every year we invite our community to join us for a session on all we really need to know from our resident employment law specialist Darren Newman. Our HR and Legal professionals welcome Darren’s expertise, insight and distinct style of  presentation that makes it a memorable and enjoyable session.

HOT Conferences

Our HR, OD and Transformation (HOT) event runs every 3 months and is either a one day venue based conference or a one week virtual event offering access to a series of online sessions and workshops.

Coaching & Mentoring Conference

A key event in our calendar each year, attracting service innovators, exhibitors, sponsors and is always in high demand from our coaching community. Moving to an online event in 2020 has certainly not impacted on the numbers of like-minded delegates with a passion for embedding a coaching culture in their own organisations
