WME have been championing coaching for well over a decade. We are  advocates of the power of coaching and mentoring and we are the home of the West Midlands Coaching & Mentoring Pool, and our annual Coaching Conference supports our mission to embed a culture of coaching across our organisations.

With the increased requests from our membership Councils for individual coaching – particularly Executive Coaching supporting Senior Leaders and an increased interest in using coaching to support leadership development programmes, WME have updated and developed their range of coaching and mentoring services.

Our ever-growing bank of expert coaches have a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skills to assist you in achieving your coaching ambitions. In an uncertain world, creating a culture of coaching  means you can equip your people to be ready to adapt. The ability of managers to listen well, ask good questions and provide feedback is imperative and with dispersed teams and remote working more commonplace, providing managers with the tools to have the greatest impact to engage and motivate staff has never been more important or potentially impactful.

West Midlands Coaching and Mentoring Pool (WMCMP)

WMCMP is a large scale, innovative and practitioner led project that supports an ambition to improve public sector performance. We have 25 organisations in membership and this community is growing year on year. Members collaborate to provide high quality and best value internal and external coaching and mentoring across their organisations. “Enabling people to become the best they can be, whatever the work environment”. We have developed other complementary services around the WMCMP and these are discounted for members, but often more widely available to encourage a commitment to coaching and mentoring across the sector. We have also delivered a highly successful annual conference for over a decade now, which ensures our coaching and mentoring services stay fresh and embrace the latest techniques, concepts and approaches.

Executive Leadership Coaching:

Being a public sector leader is complex, challenging and yet crucial to get it right. You’re expected to be confident, navigate through political  environments, work across organisational boundaries constantly delivering better for less whilst also horizon scanning and thinking strategically for your team and community. It can be a lonely, and tough yet rewarding in many ways. We understand that everyone, across all levels of leadership, need a ‘safe’ place – a sounding board, a critical friend – and that’s where WME can help. We have experienced executive leadership coaches who provide the space and appropriate challenge to help leaders be at their best.

Online Coaching:

WME has joined forces with Coaching Culture to offer online coaching solutions to improve resilience and wellbeing and develop people to be more adaptable to change. Mindsets Modules create sustainable behaviour change in your employees by giving them access to an online coaching experience and Coaching Lessons is a library of e-learning modules  designed to give everyone the capability to coach.

Coaching and Mentoring Training and Development:

A variety of training and development services to enhance the coaching and mentoring skills of employees from a basic introduction through to an ILM qualification.

CPD and Supervision for Coaches and Mentors:

We support the continued development of coaches and mentors. It is important in helping to motivate them, build their skill set and ensure ethical standards are being maintained. Supervision is an opportunity for coaches and mentors to reflect on their practice and research from the CIPD suggests that: ‘When coaches open their work to scrutiny by another experienced practitioner, the quality of coaching is improved’.
